{"id":43,"date":"2005-09-20T13:50:29","date_gmt":"2005-09-20T12:50:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.Tuazon.co.uk\/blog\/?p=49"},"modified":"2005-09-20T13:50:29","modified_gmt":"2005-09-20T12:50:29","slug":"googos-could-it-be-closer-than-you-think","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tuazon.co.uk\/blog\/2005\/09\/20\/googos-could-it-be-closer-than-you-think\/","title":{"rendered":"GoogOS &#8211; Could it be closer than you think?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I think I&#8217;ve got it sussed &#8211; GoogOS could be just around the corner&#8230;..<\/p>\n<p>Just put the core pieces together:<\/p>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/wifi.google.com\/\"><tag>Google Secure Access<\/tag><\/a> (GSA)<\/li>\n<li>A <a href=\"http:\/\/www.u3.com\/\"><tag>U3<\/tag><\/a>-style Device setup with a bootable image<\/li>\n<li>The huge amounts of &#8220;<tag>Dark Fiber<\/tag>&#8221; that Google is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.business2.com\/b2\/web\/articles\/0,17863,1093558-1,00.html\">reported to have been buying up<\/a>.<\/li>\n<p>So, you plug in your <tag>Pen Drive<\/tag> anywhere, power up the machine, and away you go &#8211; the Image on it boots and connects you to your <tag>GoogOS<\/tag> profile using <tag>GSA<\/tag> and away you go &#8211; search, browse, e-mail (or is that <tag>GMail<\/tag>?) throw in a web-based word processor like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.writely.com\/\"><tag>Writely<\/tag><\/a>, Image management through <a href=\"http:\/\/picasa.google.com\/\"><tag>Picasa<\/tag><\/a> &#038; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hello.com\"><tag>Hello<\/tag><\/a>, they&#8217;ve just launched <a href=\"http:\/\/talk.google.com\"><tag>GoogleTalk<\/tag><\/a> for <tag>instant messaging <\/tag>and you have what most people need for (at least basic) computing &#8211; I know it&#8217;d do me for trips away&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone else excited by the possibility?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I think I&#8217;ve got it sussed &#8211; GoogOS could be just around the corner&#8230;..
